Covenant

In May of 2005, Pastor David W. Akers and his family began to pastor Covenant Life Sanctuary. Under God’s divine guidance, the church has appreciated an amazing sweep of revival and has become a refuge for the hurting and broken-hearted. Pastor Akers has brought a distinctive vision of unity and purpose through the teaching of God’s inspired Word, encouraging the congregation to reach out into our community and bring in the unsaved so that they may experience God’s power of salvation in their lives and become equipped in evangelism and discipleship.

He began his ministry in 1983 at his local church, First Apostolic Church of Sanford, NC under the guidance of his father, Bishop G.L. Akers. Feeling his call to evangelize in 1985, he became full-time with the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. After traveling for three years, he married Rhonda Parrish and they continued evangelizing for 5 more years across the U.S.
Through the years he has been privileged to preach revivals, conferences and camp meetings around the US and abroad. Since 1993 he has successfully pastored three churches, one in Indiana, another in Tennessee and now Covenant Life Sanctuary.

Pastor and Sis. Akers together, strive to lead and guide with passion and conviction. Devin, their oldest son, shares their vision and is dedicated in ministry of music and the Word of God. Jared, who is 15, loves to worship and received the Holy Ghost at the early age of 8. Madeline is the joy of the Akers family, she is 6 years old and helps keep them young and full of life.
